FPL 2025/26: Key Changes at a Glance That Might Influence Your Squad Picks

  • Defensive Points Boost: Players now earn bonus points for defensive contributions — 2 points for hitting 10+ CBIT (clearances, blocks, interceptions and tackles) for defenders, 12+ CBIRT (clearances, blocks, interceptions, tackles, and “ball recoveries”) for midfielders/forwards).

 

  • Double Chip Sets: Managers get two full sets of chips (Wildcard, Free Hit, Triple Captain, Bench Boost), one per half-season.

 

  • Simplified Assists: Clearer and more consistent assist rules — 41 more assists would've been awarded last season under the new criteria.

 

  • AFCON Flexibility: Up to 5 free transfers in GW16 to help manage Africa Cup of Nations absences.

 

  • Bonus Points Tweaks: Adjustments to how key stats (e.g. saves, tackles, penalty goals) impact the Bonus Points System.
